Lysigen is the lysin research and development arm of Precisio Biotix Therapeutics. Lysigen discovers and develops best- and first-in-class lysins using its LysiThru platform. Lysins are enzymes that break down the cell wall of targeted bacteria. Because they act on the cell wall rather than on a metabolic pathway, they kill quickly and give bacteria little opportunity to develop resistance. Lysigen designs lysins for topical, vaginal, lung, and prosthetic joint infections, with a focus on bacteria that no longer respond well to standard antibiotics.
